Australia is a great place to take your vacation or travel to. There are many wonderful sites and exciting adventures to take part in while you are there. With a few tips and facts you will be on your way to a vacation paradise.

Money

You should not carry much cash on you when you travel anywhere. However, you are not going to be able to use a credit card or write a check when you are visiting Australia. A sensible way to make sure that you have enough currency is to get travelers checks. This is a way that you will be able to get what you need and then some and also have the added security of knowing that you are covered if they are lost or stolen.

Australian currency is decimal with the dollar as the basic unit. There are exchange institutions where you can cash in and get the accurate currency that you will need.

Climate

The climate is pleasant and there is not very hot temperature like some people thing there would be. The temperate will depend on what time of the year you are there. Usually you will find nice temperatures and a great weather pattern. You will want to bring lightweight clothing for your trip.

Customs

Laws prohibit any drugs, firearms, or any other foreign objects. They have these laws to protect the wildlife and citizens of their country. There is not limit on the amount of Australian cash that may be brought into or taken out of Australia.

Tipping when you are there

Tipping is not an obligation and services charges are not added to hotel and restaurants. For any special services, usually a tip of ten percent is acceptable. Taxi drivers do not expect a tip, but will appreciate anything that is offered to them. There is not mandatory right or wrong, you may tip when you feel the need.

Information centers

You will find local tourist information and fee advice in most of the towns in Australia. Look for the signs that have an “I” on them. They will lead the way for you to get the information that you need.

Moreover, never forget to ask about cheapest health insurance quote online.

One of the reasons that people tend to avoid long term travel is because they think it is expensive and feel they will never save enough for a trip. That is not true. One of the great myths about travel is that it costs a lot. People assume that to travel you need to be rich because all people see are advertisements for expensive vacations and assume all travel is like that. But it isn’t. The reality is that travel is cheap. You can travel around the world for under $15,000 dollars for one year of travel. If you only visit cheap countries, you can do it for even less.

$15,000 dollars sounds like a lot of money right? Sure it is but in terms of living off just that for one year, it’s quite reasonable. You probably spend more than that already. It also sounds impossible to save but you’re wrong again. There are many ways to save money in one year. It simply requires persistence and making saving money a habit and priority.

$15,000 dollars is about $1,200 dollars per month, which is a lot but perfectly doable if you restrict you’re spending and cut your bills. You should cut your extra spending and be frugal so you can save that much money. People waste a lot of money on small purchases every day. Cut out your extra spending and watch your bank account rise and rise.

Cutting out your bad habits is the easiest way to save money. One cup of coffee a day is $150 dollars a month. A smoker can save hundreds of dollars each month. A typical night out on the town can cost around $50 dollars or more in a big city, and since most people go out two nights a week, you could save $400 dollars. Already we have saved $400 or more dollars, depending on your habits.

Those are the easy fruit to get rid of. The real way to save money is to eat in and consume less. If you are an average person, you probably eat out 5 to 7 times a week. If each meal costs an average of $20 dollars, that is between $400-$560 dollars per month. If you make your own meals, you can save a lot of money. That saves you a lot of money, since you probably already do some grocery shopping too.

By cutting out your consumption, you buy only what you require. That is the real secret to saving for a trip around the world. if you buy only the essentials and save everything else. People spend hundreds of dollars a month on little things that they don’t really need- DVDs, music, movies, drinks, and a lot more. All of that adds.

If you only eat in and go out once a week, you will only spend $340 per month and save over $800 dollars per month just by doing those two things. Moving into a smallar apartment is an extreme measure you can also make to save even more money. Even consider moving home if you have that option.
If you do all of these things, you can save well over the amount of money you need per month by simply living frugally and smartly. Your friends may think you are living like a monk and it may seem that way at times but think of the reward you will have waiting for you- one year around the world. It is worth it.

So many people travel for important holidays that you may be quite disappointed with the cost of it. There are great ways you can save money though whether you are traveling by plane, train, or bus to get to your destination for the holidays. It is essential that you book your travel arrangements early. You don’t want to be stuck without a way to get where you want to be for the holidays due to everything being sold out. You also want to take some of your time to compare prices.

You will find some travel dates should simply be avoided around the holidays. This will allow you to avoid crowds which often equal substantial delays. You will also be able to get the same travel arrangements at a lower price just by carefully calculating the best times to travel.

You will be surprised to know that Valentine’s Day that falls on 14th February every year is a top travel time but it is. It is very important for people to be able to spend this holiday together. Since Presidents Day is very close to Valentine’s Day many people are able to take a long weekend. Avoid traveling during this Monday holiday and you will save money. Instead fly out in the next few days and then stay for a couple of days after Valentine’s Day instead of before.

Spring break takes place for about 3 weeks in March depending on which schools students are attending. If you plan to travel for spring break you need to plan it very carefully to maximize your time and to get good prices. Many colleges allow people to complete their final exams early. Try to do this and travel on a Wednesday or Thursday. Avoid peak days such as Friday and Saturday. You also want to come back on week days as they will be lower volume dates for travel.

Many people fly to see their parents for Mother’s Day and for Father’s Day. These are important holidays that take place on a Sunday in May and then on a Sunday in June. Traveling on the actual day will save you money over flying out on the Friday or Saturday before. This way you can get there on their special day and stay around for several days. Your return trip should be for one of the weekdays after the holiday instead of on the weekend.

Thanksgiving is a common holiday that people travel for. Since it always falls on a Thursday, most people get an extended weekend so they can go visit for a few days or take a vacation. The highlight of this holiday for travel takes place on the day before Thanksgiving. However, if you are willing to travel on Thanksgiving Day you can avoid the crowds. You will also find you save up to 50% of the price of getting there just by waiting less than 24 hours.

Most people return from their Thanks Giving vacation on the Sunday following the holiday. Try to avoid this day as well and return on the following Monday. Most employers want some people to be in the office on the Wednesday before so offer to do it in exchange for having the following Monday off.

Christmas Season is another peak holiday travel time, and you will find the fares get much higher the closer it gets to the 25th of December. Try to travel before the 19th in order to take advantage of the best possible fares. If you cannot to stay through New Year’s day then choose a day in the middle of the week after Christmas Day. These are often slower days than the weekends and you will get better prices.

Avoid travel on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day as they are two of the most popular travel dates of the year. Fares are usually double what they normally cost so you will save yourself plenty of money and unexpected delays if you can work around them on your travel.

For those interested in traveling to North Sumatra Lake , the largest crater lake in the world in Medan North Sumatra Indonesia, remember to avoid traveling during the festive months of Idul Fitri, Ceng Beng and School Holidays. These are the times where many will be traveling to and from Medan Indonesia.

It wasn’t too long ago we could run down to the travel agent, pick up a few brochures and make a decision on where we were going to vacation. And most of us had to vacation in the Summer when the kids were out of school. But we’re at the age now – well, a good number of us – where we can get away for a week or two and the kids; they are taking their own vacations.

Recent times have put travel plans, at least the leisure ones, on the proverbial back burner. A lot of us lost good money in the collaspe of the US markets and feel bad even thinking of taking a vacation. Still, vacations are stress relievers in recessions. Now don’t feel bad about spending for a vacation; you need it to help you perform better.

Some people have told me they are doing fine in this economy. Many have the means to travel anywhere and weren’t affected in a large way by the turn of events. But I want to address those who may have a little they can use for travel to take their spouses and families on a wonderful and relaxing vacation, knowing that you’re not going to break the bank.

On my travel website, Three Best Beaches, I list three or four destinations every day where I’ve found great deals for world travelers. Don’t go there just yet. I want you to discover a few of the best travel tips my readers use each day to get the lowest prices, and guess what – they’re totally free.

Number one is the newsletter by Vacations to Go. This is full of great deals and travel tips you won’t find anywhere else. You get it via email and can see the same deals on the web too. My second tip for you is the alert sheet from Airfare Watchdog. As you know, many websites allow you to set up alerts – but these people went out of their way. The best benefit is that you put in your airport and the Watchdog will send you the best fares to destinations across the globe.)

And one of my favorite online tools is the fare search at Kayak. You can see many destinations at the same time and which site is best to get your ticket. But a site that has saved me thousands and given me the most value is Trip Advisor. Ordinary travelers speak their peace about vacations that went right – or wrong – you will hear it all. That can save you a week of grief because you’ll always get the best hotel out there.

Finally, some options for you this winter. Did you know Americans can visit the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, no passport required. Granted, there are expensive trips, but by bargain hunting using the tips I’ve given, you can find great deals. Interested in the Caribbean? Spirit Airlines has the deals. They are always running great deals. And for those outside of the USA, check out very good deals right now for Florida. Many rental homes can be found for very cheap at Vacation Rentals by Owner. One example is a family home near all the parks in Orlando for way less than you’d pay for local hotels.

Use these tools and remember, we’re always giving out the best deals and destinations at Three Best Beaches. Drop on by our website and check out the Resources page. And get on our mailing list so you can get more great tips like these.
